Began with fresh winds from the N ward
weather thick lay by ship under short
sail middle & latter part light winds
from the W ward at 10 [o'clock] set all sail &
steered to the N ward by the wind Spoke
with the Faborite Hathaway of Fair Haven
with 3 whales then from [Trio & gunnars?] at
Sun set calm Stand qr [quarter] watches so Ends

Wednesday the 16 th

The day began with light breezes from the
Sth W ward Ship under all sail Steering
N W middle & latter part Strong winds
together with rain at noon Tacked Ship
& steered to the East ward So passed the day

Thursday the 17 th

Throughout the day fresh Gales from the
N ward & rain Ship under all sail Steering East
by compass saw nothing worth remarks this
