Moderate weather throughout the day
at day light in the morning set all sail
& steered to the W ward soon raised whales
[lowered] soon got fast & the iron [came] out
at 9 A M saw another whale [lowered] soon got
fast killed her & cut her in at noon spoke
Ironcort Casper of Havre with the with
1200 bbrls [barrels?] at sun set spoke with the
Connecticut Tate of Newlondon with 7 whales
at 8 o'clock furled Top Gallant sails and steered
W by Sth the Connecticut in company
So remains Lat Obsd 34:00 Long 7:00

Tuesday the 12 th

Strong winds from the N ward & thick fog
at sun rise furled Top Sails & lay by
Employed in boiling at 10 A M saw the
Connecticut to the leeward lying by
latter part saw 1 whale [lowered] & chased in
the fog but did not get hold so goes all
well Lat Obsd 34:10 Long 6:25

Wednesday the 13 th

Strong winds throughout the day at daylight
in the morning set Top Sails & steer to
the W ward soon raised whales [lowered] &
struck one & the iron broke [came]
a br and filled away & steered to the
W ward saw a number of whales in course
of the day & chased several times at sun
set struck & killed one but [night]
[came] on & we lost her more hard luck
