Tuesday the 30 th

Commences with light airs from N Steered Sth by E per Compass Hip under all Sail but Saw nothing worth remarks middle part Calm at 8 A M took a Squall from the S ward furled the Top Gallant Sails [braied?] our yards & Steered by the wind Saw one Ship A [Storm?] latter part weather moderate watch Employed in Sundry Jobs of Ships duty as occasion required So Ends All well Lat Obsd 9:47 Long 24:47

Wednesday the 31 st

First part light airs from the Sth W ward Steered S S E by the wind at 2 P M the wind at Sth tacked Ship & Steered W by the at 6 wind Sth W tacked Ship & Steer to the E ward middle & latter part light Strong winds furled Top Gallant Sails sent down the main royal yard So Ends all well Lat Obs 9:14 Long 23:31

Throughout these Strong winds from the Sth [W?] Steering by the wind to the E ward Saw A number of finbacks one Ship in Sight to the leeward middle part wind & weather A bout the Same A great swell from the Sth W ward latter part light breezes from W S W Steering Sth by Compass the Harbour watch Employed in fitting Puttock Shrouds to the main Top Gallant rigging So Ends all well Lat Obsd 7:54 N Long 21:38 at Noon

Friday the 2 ond

Begins with light airs a bout W by S Ship under all Sail Steering by the wind Saw 2 Ships one to the W ward & th other to the leeward saw a number of fin backs, but nothing of much importance at 3 P M Commenced breaking out the main hatch for water latter part Strong winds at Sth S W Steered S E by the wind People Employed in Sundry Jobs of Ships duty So Ends All well Lat Obsd 6:02 Long 20:30

Saturday the 3 th

First part of theese 24 hours Strong wind winds with frequent showers Ship under All Sail Steered by the wind to the Sth E ward midlle & latter part wind & weather about the same at 4 passed midknight Tacked Ship to the W ward at [9?] passed a large brig Standing to the E ward So Ends 5:37 Long 19:40

Began with fresh breezes from the Sth Sth W Steered W by the wind Ship under All Sail at 1 passed the meridean Tacked Ship Saw one Ship Standing to the E ward middle & latter part the weather [?] at 10 AM Passed two Brigs to the W ward Saw two other vessels but talked with none the day being the Sabbath no labour done more then occasion So Ends All well Lat Obs 5:07 Long 17:10 at noon

The day began with light winds from the S S W Ship under all Sail Steered & Sth Sth W by the to the E ward two Ships in [Sips?] in Sight to the leeward Standing to the E ward by the wind at 3 Passed the meridean Tacked Ship to the W ward middle part weather the same latter part the wind cants to the Sth ward All hands Employed in hunting bed bugs So Goes all well Lat Obsd 4:30 Long 17: 50

This day began with light winds with from the Sth ward steered by the wind to the W ward Ship under all sail at 9 passed the meridean furled the fore & mizen Top Gallant sails middle & latter part the wind & weather the Same at 6 A M Sit the fore Top Gallant Sail at 10 took A lunar by measuring the distance of the moon from the Sun. latter part Paint the waste boat So Ends all well Lat Obsd 2:30 Long 20:10

Thursday the 8 th

Began with light breezes from the Sth ward Ship under all Sail Steered by the wind to the W ward the Mizen Top Gallant Sail furled the Officers and boat steers Employed in repairing damages Middle and Latter part wind and weather the Same at 9 A M took a Lunar by measuring the distance of the Moon from the Sun Longitude deduced from this Obs was 21:18 Latter part People Employed in Ships duty as occasion required So Goes all well Lat Obsd 1:52 Nth Long 21:40 by Chronometer

Friday the 9 th

The day began with light airs S S E weather pleasant Ship under all Sail Steered by the wind the larboard watch Employed in fitting the fore Top Sail yard middle and latter part wind and weather the same So Ends all well Lat Obsd 0:59 miles N Long Long 22:50 west

These 24 hours begins with light airs from the Sth E Steering S S W by the wind Ship under all sail paint the waste boat middle and latter part the weather the same break out the after hatch & drove the Bread and paint the chains at 10 passed midknight took A lunar by measuring the distance of the moon from the Sun Long deduced from this Obs was 23:15 latter part Saw large quantities of Fly Flying Fish So Ends all well Lat Obsd 2 miles Nth Long 23:12

Theese 24 hours begins with light airs from the S E attended with Showers Steer by the wind under all Sail Steering by the wind, this being sea around all hands employed in [dining? diving?] bread & Painting Chains and other Sunday Jobs as occaseion required So End all well Lat Obsd 1:06 Sth Long 23:40
