First part strong breeze from Southward with a strong
currant. having nothing but the Keg anchor down the
ship commenced draging. at 12 M called all hands.
got under way under doublereefed topsails spencers.
steering by the wind. tack and tack. trying to keep
to Southward. Mid part much the same. Latter part rather
more moderate. turned one reef out frtpsl set jib so ends.
Latte 64"29 N Lang 170"27 W.

Tuesday July 12th

First part fresh breeze from SSW and thick fog. by
the wind under easy sail. Mid part cleared up some. kept
ship off steering NE. saw some Walres. Latter part fresh
breeze from NNW. Ripsacks in every direction. by the
wind heading NE. saw Kings Island. so ends in
Latt 64"32 Long 169"36

Wednesday July 13th

First and mid part light breeze from WNW and foggy.
by the wind tack & tack. Ripsacks in abundance. Latter part
thick fog and calm. clued up the sails and anchored
in 23 fthoms water. so ends this day.

Thursday July 14th

First part thick fog and calm. at 9 AM light breeze
sprung up. cleared up some. called all hands. got under
way. Plenty Ripsacks. lowered and chased. did not get
near. Mid part light breeze and plesant. Kings Island
in sight bearing NE. three sails in sight. by the wind
heading WNW. lowered and chased Devel-fish. did not
get near. Latter part at 8 PM there being Develfish
and Walrus in every direction lowered the starboard
boat and chased. came in foggy. did not get
near. light airs from the S and W. verry thick
fog so ends this day.
