tacked ship heading ENE. took in light sails and double
reefed topsails. took in 22 bbls salt water for ballast.
two sails in sight. Mid part fresh breeze and raining.
took in mainsail and spanker. Latter part set quater
watches. laying by the wind heading SSW. spoke the Blue
Star Capt Wicks of N Bedford. two sails in sight. so ends.

Wednesday July 20th

First part blowing strong from SE and raining.
took in foresail and clostreefed foretopsail. Mid
part blowing a gale from SE. took in foretopsail
and clostreefed main. laying by the wind heading SSE.
raining. hoisted up the Starboard boat. Latter part blowing a
gale. laying by the wind under clostreefed maintopsail
spencers and foretopmast staysail. raining. so ends.
quater watches.

Thursday July 21st

First part wind died away then came out NW. braced
around the yards and lay by the wind on Starboard tack.
raining. Quater watches. Mid part moderated some. set
whole topsails courses and jib. steering by the wind
heading ENE. wind N. Latter part light breeze from
N. by the wind heading ENE. fogy. sounded found 30 Fathoms.
Latt 68"30 Long 170"09.

Friday July 22nd

First and mid part light airs from Northward and
thick fog. under easy sail by the wind on Larboard tack.
Latter part much the same. so ends.
