Saw Cape Chronotskoi [KRONOTSKOYE] coast of Kamstchatka [KAMCHATKA] bearind [BEARING] WSW dist [DISTANCE] 30 miles. Saw seven or eight ships but no whales. Thursday Aug. 21rst Comes in with light breezes from the S & W without fogg [FOG]. Towards night wind freshens from SSE with fogg [FOG]. So ends this long day. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 53°=53" North Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro. [CHRONOMETER] 163°=59" East

Friday Aug. 22ond Fore part fresh breezes from the S & W. Spoke ships[:] Morrison of N [NEW] London, 1000 bls [BARRELS], Greene[;] Montezuma, Baker, 1900[;] Banc[?], Hicks, 1400[;] Julian, N [NEW] Bedford, 5 whales. So ends the day. Saturday Aug 23rd This day we have light airs and calms. Saw 6 or 7 ships and one whale going eyes out. In the evening a breeze from the S & W with rain. Carry sail ESE. So ends. Latt [LATITUDE] by guess 53°=00" North Long [LONGITUDE] by guess 164°=40" East
