at the close of the program business was again taken up. Mrs. Rivers reported that the Board had voted a scholarship for a Leon County girl for the short course at the college. The Board also voted to pay the welfare committee $10.00 for seeds for needy families in the spring. This being the annual meeting Mrs. Rivers made her report on the activities of the club during the past year. She expressed her appreciation to the officers and committees for their cooperation and loyal support. Reports were also made by the following chairmen showing that the work was carried on well durring the year. Education Committe, Miss Gregg, read by Mrs. Bridges; American citizenship, Mrs. Boone; Mrs. Baker, conservation; Mrs. Baker won the award of a bronze medal for the greatest accomplishment in conservation work. Music, Mrs. Deahl; Literary, Mrs. Leland Lewis, Flower, Mrs. Duval; Girl Scouts, Mrs. Mizell; Publicity, Mrs. Pouton; Mrs. Gramling, corresponding secretary.

The club confirmed membership on Mrs. Milton Parker in appreciation of her work during the bridge tournament.

The resignation of Mrs. Armstead Brown was read.

Mrs. Rivers reported that on Mother's Day she sent cards to the three oldest mothers in Tallahassee: Mrs. A. L. Woodward, 86; Mrs. Susan Bradford Eppes, 86;

and Mrs. E. G. Weeks, 95.

Mrs. Norwood moved, Mrs. Bond seconded, that the club open the club house twice a month for a dance for the young people of high school age. Carried. Adjourned. Alice Roberts, sec.

Call meeting of the Board, May 25, 1932.

A call meeting of the Board was held at the home of Mrs. Rivers on the 25th of May, for the purpose of deciding about the janitor and the telephone.

Mrs. Boone moved, Mrs. Bond seconded, that the telephone be discontiuned for the four summer months carried.

Mrs. Parker moved, Mrs. Lewis seconded, that the club dismiss the janitor for the four summer months. Carried.

Call meeting of the Board of the Woman's Club, Sept. 2, 1932

A call meeting of the Board of the Woman's Club was held on the 2nd of Septmeber at the home of the president, Mrs. E. G. Rivers. Mrs. Rivers, presiding, opened the meeting with a discussion concerning the use of the club house for an organization meeting of the registered nurses of the city. Mrs. Knapp moved, Mrs. Roberts seconded, that the Club permit the use of the club house for the organization meeting of the registered nurses. Carried.

On motion by Mrs. Gramling, seconded by Mrs.Knapp, the board voted to allow other organizations, such as the U. D. C. and others, to hold their meetings in the

club house for $1.50 without any fi $2.00 with use of fireplace; and $2.50 with use of furnace.

Mrs. Knapp moved, Mrs. Pouton seconded, that Mrs. Rivers see Arthur and see what is the least he would work for during the winter. Carried.

A discussion on mothers' pensions led by Mrs. Pouton followed.

Mrs. Knapp moved, Mrs. Bastain seconded, that Mrs. Rivers appoint a committee to call a meeting of other committees from civic organization to go before the county commissioners and wage the passage of the Mother's Pensions bill. Carried.

The board went on record as being willing to stand behind all work undertaken by the welfare committee in relief of all kinds, and is willing to cooperate in every way possible.

Mrs. Rivers reported that Mrs. Gilbert and Mrs. Parker have resigned from the club. The resginations were accepted with regret. The following names were presented for membership: Miss Helen Mawery Mrs. J.W. Collins, Sr., Mrs. Rosenberg, Mrs. Herman Hurz, accepted.

Mrs. Roberts moved, Mrs. Bostain seconded, that the commitee having charge of the program for the afternoon also have charge of the social hour at the close of the meeting, furnishing light refreshments. Carried

Board meeting, October 13, 1932

The Board of the Woman's Club met in regular session Thursday, October 13, at the home of the president, Mrs. Rivers presiding. Twelve members were present. the names of Mrs. Marshall Cooke, Miss Sarah Partridge, Mrs. Earl Smith, Miss Louise Conradi, and Mrs. Harry Wells were presented for membership. Mrs. Bostain announced that Miss Eherl Williams would speak on educational work at Leon High School on Thursday night, October 20. Different organizations will cooperate in entertaining her at a tea at the club house in the afternoon from 4:30 to 6:00 o'clock. On motion by Mrs. Bostain, seconded by Mrs. Green, the board voted to cooperate in having the tea.

Mrs. Moore moved, Mrs. Bostain seconded, that the club should abolish the initiation fee. Carried.

Mrs. Gramling moved, Mrs. Knapp seconded, that the initiation fee of the new members who have paid it in September be returned. Carried.

Mrs. Knapp moved, Mrs. Moore seconded, that the cooresponding secretary write new members that their names would be placed on the roll upon the payment of at least half the dues or $2.50. Carried.

Mrs. Moore moved, Mrs. Roberts seconded, that if the garden club asks for the club house for the flower show, they be allowed to use it provided that they protect the floor and be responsible for any damage and pay all actual expenses; and that they are not to use any green crepe paper or artificial glass. Carried.

Mrs. Moore moved, Miss Gregg seconded that the club make rate to the U.D.C's for the year of $22.50 without use of linen. Carried.

Woman's Club, October 14, 1932

The Woman's Club meet in regular session on October, 14th in the club house with the president, Mrs. Rivers, presiding. The meeting opened with the salute to the flag led by Mrs. Boone, followed by the club creed read in unison. After the singing Suwannee River, Mrs. Rivers spoke a few words of greeting to the members, this being the first meeting of the fall.

The minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report was read by Mrs. Roberts as follows: House Fund ..... $ 239.76 Checking ...... 34.25 Conversation ..... 52.40 Beautification ..... 78.38 Welfare ...... 22.12 overdrawn Accepted.

Mrs. Roberts reported Board action as to dues as follows: That the initiation fee be abolished That the names of new members be placed on the roll upon the payment of at least half of the dues, or $2.10. That all members can pay dues in two installments when wishing to do so.

The following names were presented to the club for membership: Mrs. Marshall Cooke, Miss Sarah Partridge, Mrs. Harry Wells, Mrs. Earl Smith, Mrs. Geo. K. Armes, and Miss Louise Conradi.
