Increased responsibility and decreased resources. More individuals less money. More work attempted, such as health safety, sanitary conditions of the some, vocational guidance, training boys and girls to make better use of their leisure time, training them to develop their ethical characters, besides the regular tecnical teaching - Some needs as listed by Mr. Hartsfield are: good teachers who teach from an inate love for children; better pay for teachers; more libraries, better literature; a new high school building; more equipment; co-operation of every individual and every organization.

Under the direction of Mrs. Arthur Williams and Miss Mansfield, some pupils of the Fla. Demonstration School presented beautifully "A Pageant of Books."

Miss Gregg stated that the meetings of the education committee will be open to the public and will have a good program each time on educational matters and all are cordially invited to attend. Miss Gregg extended an invitation to all present to the social hour and tea with which the com.

Mrs. Rivers reported that the club had been invited to have a float in the Armistice Day Parade, but inasmuch as the cost would be considerable it was decided to keep the money for the milk fund for undernourished children.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned.

Board Meeting. Jan. 11, 1933-

The Board of the Tallahassee Woman's Club met at the home of Mrs. Rivers Jan 11with Mrs. Rivers presiding- The question of club house rates and rules was brought up and discussed at length, there beeing requests from Sororities at the college for the use of the house at club member rates. specific as to charges Mr Shriver, of the commission of the Century of Progress was then introduced by Mrs Rivers and a letter from Mrs N. C. Hodges. He explained the plan and offered the club the opportunity to sell Century of Progress stickers, the club to receive 15%. Any person purchasing one dollars worth to receive a receipt which allows them a chance on one of the many cash prizes. Mrs Moor moved Mrs Ponton seconded that the Board recommend favorable action on the proposition. Board requested that Mrs Duval and Mrs Knapp plant flowers and seed on vacant lot back of club house the flowers to be used in the club house.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report was read as follows: House fund - $42.09 Checking fund - $75.23 Conservation - 2.00 Beatification - 71.28 Welfare - 84.45 Accepted.

Mr. Shriver, representative of the Century of Process Committee, was presented to the club by the president and spoke for a few minutes about the club undertaking the selling of "Booker Stamps" to raise money for carrying on the work of the Fla. Committee. The club to receive 15% of all monies collected from such sale. All motion by Mrs. Ponton seconded by Mrs. Moor, the club voted to undertake the sale of $200.00 of stamps. A letter from Mrs. Nilson was read in which she urged that club women study carefully every phase of taxes, where the money is to come from, where to go etc, so that intelligent co-operation may be given the legislative committee during the coming session.

Miss Gregg, Mrs. Frank Duval, Mrs. Fred Moor, Mrs. Fain and Mrs. Hathaway. - Two beautiful punch ladles were presented by Mrs. Rivers, a gift to the club from Mrs. Doyle S. Carleton.

For the welfare com. Mrs. Bostain reported that $94.00 is being given each month by different organizations of the city for milk for undernourished children. The club giving $5.00 monthly. On motion by Mrs. Boone, seconded by Mrs. Moor, the club voted to confer honorary members cup on Mrs. Dave Shultz Mrs. Parker moved, Mrs. You seconded that the cor. sec. write a note of thanks to Mrs. Carleton for her lovely gift. Carried. Miss Gregg anounced that the meetings ot the Education Com. are open and everyone is invited to attend. A note of thanks from the Children's Home Society was read. The cer. sec. was instructed to write a note of thanks to Mr. Eagle for the beautiful flowers he sent the club. Dues were paid by Miss Shores, $10.00. Mrs. U. C. Parker, $5.00; Mrs. Ponton $5.00 and Mrs. Boyd, $5.00
