To preserve the Sight
Take
vessell of glasse with a long & narrow necke & let it stand
fifteene daies in e Sunne t it may be wel dryed then
remoove e glass softly & power e Juyce from e grounds
to every half pound of e iuyce put put one ounce of
chosen lignum Aloes beaten into fine powder & let it stand
other fifteen daies in e sunne then strain it twise throw
a thick cloth & keep the clearest in a glass drop a lettle theerof
in to your Eie to clear e light
And som do distil this wood in a distillatory of glasse
& put e water theerof into e Eies & hold this for a
great secret as miraculous to preserve e sight

Another
Dessove in an ounce of water of Rosemary flowers two
seruples of Sal gamma very finly powdered & filtered
drop e same often into e Eies it doth mightily clear e
Eies t Suffusions are wonderfully removed & especially
moystures of e Eyes
for an Ague
half an ounce of
root 30 grains of salt of wormwood take it in
a four proportions in a glass of claret wine
morning & Evening when if fit is of
