Take Colesfoot, Red Rose Leaues, Burnett, Betony and
Comfrey Rootes of each a handfull, p[i]cke & wash them cleane
& flue the Rootes, boyle them all in a pottle of water to a
Quart, then straine it & putt to a pound of Sugar, & boile it
to a Syrrup, drinke it first in the morning, & last at night, 6
Spoonfulls at a time.

My mother, take Colorfoot, Red Rose Leaves, Burnett, Betony, and Comfrey Rooster of each a handful, pick and wash them dear and glue the Rooster, boil them all in a postle of water to a Quart then stain it and put to a pound of sugar and boil it to a syrup, drink it first in the morning, and last at night a spoonfulls at a time.
