To the Chairman of the Committee meeting of the Council for the City of Fort Worth.

Deer Sir/

I beg most respectfully to ask you for the possition of Sanitary inspector in the City of Fort Worth Tex. Or Some other Possition which you have a vacansey has I am of presant unable to follow my usual Employment owning to Debility in Bodyly Health to support my family. should you kindley Grannt me the favour I will do my utmost to give you every satis= faction & will fill all the duty's Required to prefection as fare as in says in my Power & acording to Law, I beg to refer you to the Doctorp Certifycate at Fort Worth for my debility of Health & other referance as to General Character from Gainsville where I have lived for the last tenn years Hopeing for a favourable reply I am yours very Respectfully

Fort Worth Texas April 19th, 1898.

Hon. Mayor and City Council. Gentlemen.

We your committee on Police having considered the matters of the Polie Department, together with all the applications for positions make the [scratch out] following recommendations. First that the offices of Turnkey, and 'olice Clerk that are now receiving a salary of $60, and $40, respective -ly be consolidated, and one offiver do the duties of the two at a sal-ary of $75, per month, and also make the following recommendation for positions on the force.

Dectectives [scratch out] J.W. Thomason, C.R. Scott. Mounted Patrolmen, G.W. Carter, S.S.Potts, and W. Lowry. Patrolmen, J.M. Coley, J.P.Witcher. T.B.George. J.R.Smith, Ben U.Bell, R.S.Garret, J.M.Redford, R.Zimmerman. Guy H. Moore, Pete Howard, L.P.Moore, Henry Towns, A.Speight 1st, Extra-man. S.E.Eddings 2nd, Extra-man. W.H.Perkins, 3rd, Extra-man. Turnkey and Clerk. Ira M. Butler. Prison Guard, George Craig. Patrol Driver, W.J.Orr. Standard Theatre, Andy Grimes. Hollands Theatre, Frank Bryant.
