Williams & Bailey,

Counsellors at Law,

Bell Building, Fort Worth, Texas.

Sept.1st,1899.

To the Mayor and City Council, Fort Worth, Texas;

Gentlemen:-

At a recent meeting of the city council, a resolution was adopted giving to me as city attourney authority to settle certain tax suits in accordance with a proposition made by Wm R.Booth and accepted by said city council. Since that time I have been in constant readiness to make settlement as authorised by the council, but Mr. Booth has not as yet made the required payment, and for the this reason I have not carried out the instructions given me. Mr. Booth expects, so he informs me, to be able to pay the required amount during the present month. But the matter has been so considerably delayed that I believed I ought to report to the counci and ascertain if it is willing to indulge this further delay.

yours truly, Wm D. Williams
