OFFICE OF FORT WORTH CITY WATER WORKS

A.W. SCOBLE, Superintendent. H.L. CALHOUN, Secretary.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, Dec.5 th,02. 189___

Hon.J.F.Lehane,Chm. and Water Works Committe.

Gentlemen;-

Referring to attached petition will say that it is not the object of this department to rob any one,(remark of petitioner,) but to get the just amount due for water used.

The meter was read correctly for the month compalined of. It appears from what I can learn that the petitioner has a syphon for draining his cellar, which consumes a great amount of water and I cant see where this department is responsible for the petitioners use of wat for draining his cellar, which he ought to have protected against seweage and surface water.

Very respectfully submitted. A.W. Scoble Superintendent Water Depart
