Mama's beans are so nice and big. We are going to have the first, [ones?], tonight. It is nearly time for mail.

Wed. Night 10-30

Dear Dad: Rec'd your good letter yesterday, also the 10.00. Thank you very much. Pd. 3.00 on water bill this afternoon & 6.00 will go on rent. I think this will make 10, [?], rent bill. I went to prayer meeting tonight & left girls to go to bed & finishing eating their supper. Maude has been here since Monday a.m. & went home on the 4:1 car this afternoon. We had a good time and she did quite a bit of serving for me. Everybody on, [non-?] side wants you home Sat. to vote & visit. I didn't see why your contractor wouldn't be willing for you to come home for 2 or more days, under circumstance [as?] & help your place for you. If you left Sat. morn., could you get home before 6 in the eve? If not, it would be better to start Friday eve.

If you don't come home for this election, you must try to stay there until I come, which I will do soon as I can after I find homes for the, [strck?], or rather decide what to do with them. Altho, I would like to put up some berries before I go. Can you find out if there are many berries & much fruit up there & if reasonable? Rats & mice are so bad here, also moths, that I hate to close up the house. Mr. N. says to put some poison raisins or cheese & that will fix them. I am glad you have got such a nice man & family to work for. Why don't you ans. me about getting a tent here to take along up to Atascadero? All our girls & I went down to Mr. Angus on Thursday & picked up our 3 packs of potatoes & will ship them when I go north. What's the price of potatoes there? Our potatoes & fruit & vegetables wouldn't cost us but little here this yr. [illegible:obscured] No letter for several days from you.

The Mr. Webbs were here this eve at dusk, and he has taken the option out on grr., (?), land for $20.00 for 68 days for us, and he wanted to know if I wanted to let Andy, Surrey, & Aw go at $200.00 on the deal, that the "widow" wanted to know for she had a buyer for the horse & Mr. Webb, Senior will buy "Daisy Bell," or they will take both horse & cow & keep for us and come down oncea wk. [week] or oftener to look after the place.

Mr. W. just got a contract for 5r. house & auto house and a contract for bridge & had just ordered 60 packs of cement of glass. All his work, so far, is in Sierra Madre.

They have ordered their goods to be shipped down from their ranch up North, so they will settle things as long as work keeps up.

thot [thought] they could sell Andy to some Japs for $75.00, if I said so, and Japs wanted him to bring Colt over & they were so busy, so I let him take him. (tho [Though] it made me most heart sick), but he brought him back as one. Jap had gone away and the other was asleep. They had a Jap horse Dr. there who looked him over & said "very good horse." Japs said they'd come over this eve to see him, so I don't know what to do.

Andy Dandy troted, [trotted,] off beside his mother with one line on him just as tho he'd been driven every day all his life. He is so gentle.

Gee! How the people are flying by to the election. Some are waving to the girls who are out on lawn, most of time, today. We mowed the lawn last night & Helen & Alice have raked & cleaned up front & it look, [looks], fine.
