3) This is Saturday afternoon, 2:40. Mr. West and Mr. Harry H. came for me, (& kids), to go and vote. They had lots of excitement this forenoon and morning up town. Kid, [Paine?], was just on an auto to run for voters and he was taken off by our men because he had no caffure, [chauffeur], licence, [license], and was going to take young Kent off Billings Auto for the same reason. Don't know if they arrested them or not. Were going to and could have done so. Then Bert Parker said something to Mr. W., [Herlock?], about his wife standing in with the liquor men and Mr. H. told him, plainly, it was all a lie and hauled off to to give him a blow and someone held him back, and they contested Ailers vote because he lives out of the city on a strip of Aunty land. So he wants half to pay taxes.

Then the Billites wouldn't

5) money for detectives on Mr. Rose. These figures just came to light last night. Sorry, the hot weather is so harble, [horrible], on you. Can't you get all inside work?

Have you tried the iodine on your feet yet?

If it don't help your feet, I'll try to get you in step arches, or whatever they are called.

Daisy Bell is doing well, I think, and oh, the lovely cream.

I am selling 1 qt. to the Howells and 1 pt. to John Devin and Mr. Harper over at Evans' old place. Don't know if to risk, [too risky], selling more now as calf appetite is increasing. I don't know why June don't come fresh. Am afraid she isn't going to be and that will look crooked in me. I am afraid altho, [although], Mr. Webb told me he had been over to see Mr. Alexander lately.

Grandpa and Mr. Webb came down yesterday afternoon and said they

4) let Jim, Ruby and wife vote because they have been away from Arcadia for awhile and had Sam Robin in their house so as to hold fire insurance. They have got an atty. wp. there now. He says they have a right to vote. Our crowd is very hopeful, but I fear it will be a close shave. Everybody on our side wishes you were home and so do us and co.

Altho, [Although], you said you didn't think you'd get home, we have been looking for you all forenoon and will look rest of the day.

The old Bill crowd this wk., [week], had a Mr. Rose over on D. tract for living with his cousin and stirred up a lot excitement, but it was a good thing for us for turned a lot of voters over for us. They par'd out something like 228.50 of city

8) we expect to have a big mess of Kentucky wonder beans out of our garden tomorrow. Wish you could have some.

Do you and Mr. F. want some nice tomato plants?

Alice churned some butter today. On way home from Angus potato patch, we called on the Bowman family and Grandma, tho, [though], feeble, took me out into the orchard to see some of the fruit, cherry plums ripening, and oh, what a sight. Trees just loaded.

Oh, Miss Wilson got the appointment this wk., [week], for Post Mistress for which I am glad.

Wonder if we could ever raise $11.00 in money to pay on that gov. land if we don't resell some or wanted to keep it. Mr. Webb will want his $20.00 option money July 1st. A man wanted him to tell him where it was other day and he wouldn't tell and, quick as he could take option on it for, [Fec.?], I'd loose it. Good bye. Much love, Dedie. No letter for several days from you.
