Air Service Balloon School Ross Field Arcadia, California

Honolulu, H.I. May. 8, 1920

Dear Alice:

Arrived here Thursday at eleven o'clock a.m. after some trouble and hard work. I suppose Rev. Thomas has told you about our leaving Ross Field. Thanks very much for the ring. I am wearing it every day.

It is now almost nine o'clock and the lights will soon go out. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Your friend, Carl
