we called it. Took us almost nine days, while
a fast mail boat makes it in four days.

So far I, [[inserted above]:like]], this camp fine. We certainly have
fine barracks. Those at Ross Field are pig pens,
if I may use that expression, along side of there.
Here we sleep upstairs. Downstairs is the
dining hall, supply room, library and
barber shop. The climate is fine. The nights
are warm but cool enough to sleep good. As
soon as we got here, I was put on guard as the
company, [[inserted above]:is in]], confindment so I feel very tired. Didn't get a good night's sleep since we
left Ross Field. Dellenger's throat is better
again and now, I am taking a round of the
same trouble.

Today, I received two, [[inserted above]:letters]], from Ruth. She
wrote she hadn't received a letter from you,
but was anxiously waiting for it and
would answer at once.

Thanks very much for the ring. I am
wearing it every day.

It is now almost nine o'clock and the
lights will soon go out. Hoping to hear
from you soon.

Your friend,
Carl
