began to grin, they asked him what
it was he reckoned it was hong & said
it was the first fresh meat he had
eaten for a year & a half. I yesterday
eat the last of that smoked beef you
sent it has done me a good deal of
good. I had a foe come from home
the Tuesday before M we left New Newport Newport News
& I have got some of its contents
yet It came in 4 day & it was lucky
I got it before we left, for I never shou-
ld have received it. I don't think papers
will come through very well you can try
one & if I don't get it will write Please

would not take any pay, but gave me
