10) a considerable proportion of ye grass in some moist meadows & runs. Grows very thick about 2 1/2 feet high — pretty good hay. This grass appears reddish at a distance & is easily distinguished.
Straws hallow — cylind. striated — slender. branches some what verticulate, like Poa, when they are sent off from stalks — panicle spreading, when in bloom. fruit stalks crooked, set with very short hairs.
