Description

A stimulant oleoresin obtained from the trunk of several species of South American trees of genus Copaifera. The thick, transparent exudate varies in color from light gold to dark brown, depending on the ratio of resin to essential oil. The main ingredient of the essential oil is caryophyllene (-β-caryophyllene) also found in many essential oils, especially clove, cannabis sativa, rosemary, and hops.
