Erasmus Robert Darwin (1731-1802) was an English physician, natural philosopher, physiologist, slave-trade abolitionist, inventor, and poet. His most important scientific work, Zoonomia (1794–1796), contains a system of pathology. His grandson was Charles Darwin of evolution fame.
