* The Saturated Tincture; according to Dr Darwin
is prepared thus.

Rx
Pulv Digitalis ℥ij [2 ounces]
Spt Vin Rect ℥iv [4 ounces]
Aqua Fontana ℥iv [4 ounces]

From 30 to 60
drops is a dose
for an adult
twice or thrice Pr Diem [per day]. Should this dose
induce violent sickness it should be deminished.

Rx
Fol. Digitalis ℥iv [4 ounces]
Spt Vin Rect ℥v [5 ounces]

Digest for seven
days and strain
off the liquor. From 10 to 15 gtt [drops] of the
tincture are to be given three times a day
untill the pulsation is reduced below the healthy
number.— The number of drops should then
be deminished or increased as occasion may
require.
