Blisters

neighbouring parts they have given great relief in that
dreadfull disease, in a verry short time.

Mania. It would require a whole lecture to speak
fully of their use in Mania, they are generally used and with
blisters I have made verry instantaneous and perminant
impression upon maniacs, sometimes however they do harm.

Epilepsy. They are important remidies in many cases of
Epilepsy, I have frequently prevented the paroxysms of the disease
by means of blisters and synapisms.

Hydrocephalus Internus. I have already
spoken of Hydrocephalus Internus and of the use of blisters in
this disease when speaking of Mercury, so that it is scarcely

performed a cure it has been by bleeding, and repeated blisters,

Vertigo. I have had too much experience of them in
my own person not to speak of them with gratitude. I have
apply'd them to the inside of the wrists and ancles, and to the
back of the neck, and found all equally usefull. I have
indeed employ’d synapisms to advantage but when there is time I
prefer blisters.
