Holidays yesterday & to-day. have finished Churchill's
plants, made a report of the harder one, and have
them ready to send to him. He has some 300
labels to make for me. Have done a good deal
at the Gray Herb. yesterday & to-day. This A.M.
I had a long talk in Dr. Gray's study, with Mrs.
Gray on the Gray Letters. She told me a good
deal about Dr. Gray's early life in New York and
especially in Cambridge, and about the various
additions that were made to the house at the
Garden. We also talked over the Gray letters
which she is having attended to now.
Barnes acknowledges the receipt of my paper on the
Glass Flowers. It will appear in the Gaz. as soon as
possible. Nice letters from Mr. Bebb — "The New
Zealand Wattle" that he has been writing
to me about as cultivated in Fla. is
Acacia dealbata, Link. He sent me to-day
some branches pressed and I took them to the
Herbarium. This P.M. M. & I went to the
exhibition of photos by the Club here, at the
Social Union Rooms. They were fine. Pictures

— Cambridge — Sunday.
Yesterday, Sat. L.L. Dane spent the P.M. and dined here. He took
off 30 sheets from my Herbarium for his artist to sketch in
view of his New England Trees. They are those whose fresh flowers
he has been unable to obtain. We had a pleasant time.
To-day I mounted 90 sheets. I do so want to finish my
mounting. Lost more yet. Walked to the Bot. Museum
and looked at the Glass Flowers for a while.
