Dear Doctor:
Your letters of Feb. 27th, and Mar. 3rd, and the good
news that you have weathered the political storm
arrived. I am relieved that you remain at your post.
The big deputy must be more careful and stop throw
ing herself about before she really gets hurt.
Miss Rice visited me the 10th or yesterday. I told
her about warden Lawes - and she will write to our
friends in Rockford and make a couple of suggestions.
You are anxious to hear some news - So I'll
give you the latest happenings on our case: Our
reporter friend Mr. Blomberg answered my letter. His
letter was full of hope and encouragement. He said
Mr. Thompson is very sincere about this as he is about
everything he undertakes and he is very capable and
should do me a great deal of good. He said Mr. T is now
laying the ground work and very soon some action
will be taken. He assured me that he will continue
to do everything he can himself. He wrote quite
a lot about how he and Mr. T had been impressed by
Miss Rice. He said she was one in a million & true blue.
Miss Rice really "carried the ball" that day in Rockford!
