(seq. 52)5. During illness: Holidays The hospital observes the following holidays: The hospital cannot close holidays, so some employees must work on each holiday. In such cases, the employee will be given another day off in place of the holiday. Payment for holidays worked instead of time off will be made only in case of emergency. Keys It is important to keep keys always in your possession. Lost keys must be reported at once to your de- 16 partment head. Keys must be returned when employee leaves, before receipt of last check, or a charge will be made for the cost of the keys. Leave of Absence Leave of absence for sufficient cause may be obtained from the Director. Lost and Found Please report any articles either lost or found to your department head. Incoming mail is distibuted twice a day by the Business Office to department head offices, where it may be claimed. Promotions and Transfers It is the policy of the hospital to promote its own employees ahead of outside applicants to positions for which they are qualified.
