The Pinus strobus and Pinus
resinosa are the only pines
growing freely in this
region. Last year I found
on the hill back of the
house a

Pinus rigida

growing with the other two
kinds. This A.M. I gathered
a specimen and cone for press.
I found a fine specimen of

Populus grandidentata

on the hill, and by a
brook in wet land we
found two

Fraxinus sambucifolia

specimens of which I have
put in press, as well as

Fraxinus americana

which was growing by the
road side.
