Feb. 8 Ice a plenty. Feb. 9 We had a harty laugh over the old cows name, Jenester, I thought Dell, & John were speaking about a woman, I did not catch all they said. Feb. 10 Mr. Walt Steel died to-day. Plenty of Ice & snow on the ground. Feb. 11 Cloudy day did not thaw but very little, not very cold. Feb. 12 Ice covers the ground been raining slowly all day. Today is Sunday.

Feb. 13 Haze stayed all night with us , Edward is gone to stay all night with Uncle Jacob Mock, been snowing all day. Feb. 14 Well it is still very cold everything frozen. Ice & snow covers the ground, Maggie & Ethel Montsinger have made three comforts, finished one to-day, put it in the frames & taken it-out. (Pretty good for such a cold day as this one.) Feb. 15 The ground is still covered with Ice & snow.

Feb. 16 Edward has come home. Johnnie Mock came with him. Feb. 17 A very pleasant day but Ice & Snow on the ground yesterday morning the thermometer was down to 6. This morning it was 26. Edd taken Johnnie Mock home this morning he was sick. Feb. 18 Well it is still snow under foot. Feb. 19 Mr. Hillard preached at the M.E. church. Feb. 20 It has rained all day & every thing is covered with sleet.

Feb. 21 It is much warmer to-day. The ice is melting off the trees. Uncle John & Aunt Molly is in town to-night. Feb. 22 The ice & snow is nearly all gone a few place where it is not gone yet. Feb. 23 Ice & snow is not gone yet, but it was a very pleasant day. Iola spent the day here. Feb. 24 The ice not all gone yet. The first pretty day we have had in a long time. Feb. 25 Ice nearly gone. Feb. 26 Mr. Turentine preached for us at the M.E. church.

Feb. 27 It was a beautiful day. Feb. 28 Another pretty day after so many cold ones. Mar. 1 A very fine day (Pen stayed all night with Sam.) Mar. 2 Jim Jones spent the night with us. Mar. 3 May Lindsay come yesterday & spent the night & day with us. Bob is gone to Washington. Mar. 4 A warm day. Mar. 5 Mr. Hillard is back from Washington. Bob will be home tonight, he said. Mar. 6 Well we sowed lettuce seed today & radish.
