1 pint of bread sponge
1 egg beaten with 1/2 cup
sugar butter size of an
egg 1 cup raisens
stir flour in with
a spoon as for soft
brown bread, and let
it get light. 15 bake

Rusk

1 pint milk 1/2 yeast
cake. make a sponge and
let it rise, then add
1/2 cup sugar 3 eggs 1/2 cup
butter, and spice to taste
mold and and let rise again
when baked cover the tops
with sugar disolved in
milk
