Dan Smail

Case opens 1407, Tuesday 16 August.

The judge of the appeals court is Antonius Barreme.

Petrus Huguet, caulker, appears. He is appealing an ordinatione sive summa issued by Elziarum Andrici, the locumtenens of Matheus de Bello Valle, the viguier of Marseille in favor of Mandalena. He gives the judge an instrument of appeal [this allows a losing plaintiff the right to pursue an appeal; usually granted automatically by the lower court] written by Petrus Fresquerie, notary, on 1407, 27 July. He asks for an inhibitory letter. The judge looks at the instrument of appeal and grants the inhibitory letter. A copy of the instrument of appeal is begun.
