[image] ATLAS PUMPKIN

New Atlas Pumpkin.
What do you think of a pumpkin weighing 300 pounds? It is not an impossibility, as that weight has been exceeded in this variety, which is an improvement on the Mammoth Chili. One specimen shown at the World's Fair is said to have weighed 481 pounds, but such a weight is extraordinary. Our seed is the result of years of selection and was saved only from the largest sized, perfect shaped specimens which will be sure to produce enormous fruits if properly grown. It is just the thing for exhibition at fairs, etc., and just think of the enormous weight that can be grown from one seed. Flesh is a rich yellow, very thick, and of excellent quality, nutritious and profitable to grow for stock feeding. Keeps well. We have only a small supply of seed this year and can only offer it in packets of ten seeds for ten cents.

A Prize of $10.00
Will be paid for the largest specimen grown from our seed this year, the report to be sent in by October 15th. Full directions for growing large specimens sent with each packet.

I grew one vine from the Atlas Pumpkin seed received from you which produced four pumpkins. The largest weighed 175 lbs., second 168 lbs., third 138 lbs., fourth 96 lb., or 577 lbs. in all.-- Hardy Hughes, Myrtle Creek, Oregon.

Giant Fringed Winter Endive.
Endive is one of our best and most wholesome salads for fall and winter use and some people call it winter lettuce. This fine new variety is the best of all. It is a strong, vigorous grower, making a large, white heart and the leaves are beautifully curled and of the best quality, very crisp and refreshing. Sow seed in April for early use, or in June or July for winter. Pkt. 10c, oz. 30c, 1/4 lb. $1.00.

Rose-Ribbed Self-Blanching Celery.
This beautiful new Celery is a sport of the Golden Self-Blanching Celery, and possesses all the good qualities for which that variety has become so famous. It has the same beautiful, rich golden-yellow color, is self-blanching to the same remarkable degree, and differs only in the color of the ribs. These are of a very attractive shade of rose, which deepens as season advances. This ornamental feature gives the whole plant a most pleasing appearance, that cannot fail to make it of even greater value for market, while no celery could be of finer quality, and we recommend it to all lovers of nice celery. Pkt. 10c, oz. 30c, 1/4 lb. 85c, lb. $3.00.

Chinese Sago Beans.
When traveling in California we spent considerable time on a 600 acre farm which was devoted to growing standard vegetable and flower seed and novelties from all parts of the world. We noticed here that the kind of food called Loukdaw, which seemed to be the most relished by the farm workmen, was a small, round, green bean, smaller than a kernel of popcorn or about the size of sago. To prepare it for the table it was soaked in water for several days, changing water frequently until it began growing and the sprout was about half an inch long. When boiled they then make a nice fresh dish for the table. In this way fresh vegetables can be had in the winter. We tried growing them on our place last summer and they yielded wonderfully well, so we take pleasure in offering them to our customers. It will make a new dish for your table and a fresh vegetable ready at any time of the year. Pkt. 10c, oz. 20c, 1/4 lb. 50c.

Giant Gray Sugar Peas.
A novelty from Hawaii which we have grown here for several years and it has yielded an immense crop of large flat pods, which are unusually tender and sweet. The peas should not be shelled, but the pods are to be cut into pieces about an inch long and boiled. With the addition of a little milk and butter they are as nice as the best asparagus, only richer. The Cleveland Seed Co., who claim to be the largest growers of seed peas in the United States, writes us, "We consider your new Sugar Peas the most desirable Edible Pod Peas ever brought to our notice. It is prolific and has very handsome broad pods, quite stringless, brittle, tender and sweet." If you want to enjoy a delicious table luxury, try them this year. In packets only, packet 10c.

New Ideal Mammoth Rhubarb.
The rhubarb (or pie plant) is a vegetable which it is difficult to improve and it takes many years to fully establish a new variety. About 25 years ago Dr. Kennicott, of Illinois, in growing roots from seed, found one which was so far superior to, and different from all others, that he saved it carefully, and the root has been divided and propagated from year to year until finally we purchased the stock. Like all other highly improved sorts it seeds sparingly and comes more nearly true to name when grown from seed than most other sorts. The stalks are as large, if not larger, than the Victoria, and are produced in much greater abundance. Pkt. 10c, oz. 25c. Strong roots 3[?]c each. Per doz. $2.50.

Mammoth Ground Cherry
For several years past we have thought the Yellow Ground Cherry was a fruit which could be improved, and by hybridizing and selecting we have finally secured a mammoth size fruit, fully 1 1/2 inches in diameter, which is of fine flavor. Thousands of our customers will want to try it, but we can only offer it in packets of 40 seeds. Price per packet 10c.

Snow Ball Popcorn.
A most excellent variety, claimed to be a great improvement on White Rice. Ear of large size, fine shape, very productive. Pkt. 10c; 1/2 pt. 20c; qt. 65c, postpaid. By freight, 1/2 pk. 75c; pk. $1.40.
