This came to hand a few days since with the parchment &
enrolling papers descriptive list which I suppose thee would
want sent to thee. Hatche's remark about the weather
made me think of George Davis who said he was all of a
"wreakin' shiver". I had a line from Henry last
week - he wanted information about thee & I presume has written
to thee by this time - says he continues to gain finely - poor
fellow I fear he can never enjoy health. I think he is the most
contented & hopeful person I ever knew.

I do not see how the letter I sent to thee at Richmo[nd]
ever got round so as to find thee in Annapolis. I did no[t]
write many to thee there, fearing if they came too often [page torn]
chance of thy getting them would be less - & I knew that [page torn]
& Ann kept writing. - Orlana went ba[ck]
last week - she had a grand visit home & around - Ann grew
very impatient because she did not return sooner - it is va-
cation now & as the most of Ann's particular friends were
expecting to leave she anticipated rather a dull time - it
seems almost too bad that she has not come home but it
costs so much to come she thought she had better not come
now when the vacation is short & getting about here so bad.

John Stone & family who boarded with us about
three months, moved last week onto a farm he has purchased in
Wolcott - They are very consciencious upright people - We now
have our hired man's wife I suppose to spend the summer
with us as boarder - It is pleasant to me to retire to the
east room where I have mostly spent first days, since [page torn]
meeting has been discontinued - Farewell my dear - thy m[other?]
