Dear Sir,

Your [kind?] note of 10th inst enclosing a a [illegible?] on Miss. Brown: B[illegible] [H?] for One hundred dollars, as a donation to this Society, to aid its efforts in behalf of the lower animals, was duly recieved.

Please accept my thanks, for this [repeated?] mark of your sympathy, with the objects of this Society.

Your suggestions in regard to the best method of collecting funds, have received my careful attention & I have addressed a note to Mr. A.R. [Wetmore?], asking him for a loan of his book, for the purpose indicated.

I think that it will be a benefit to you, to purchase 100 copies for distribution.

[illgeible]iously [circulated?] I have no doubt, it will arouse attention to this mode of transportation, as being beneficial, both as regards the prevention of cruelty to animals and the health of mankind.

The pecuniary [side?] of the case is also an aid to the cause of mercy & to the promotion of health & cannot be too widely known.

The price of the reports will be 40 cents each.
