Latter wore ship to North. Lat 4 m [MINUTES] S [SOUTH] 179 40

Friday
Augus [AUGUST] 28th
First part brisk breezes. Ship stear [STEERING] to north.
At 6 P.M took in light sails. Midle [MIDDLE] part
stearing the same. Latter part tacked
to South. Emploid [EMPLOYED] cuting [CUTTING] our a new
jib and mending the olde [SIC] one.
So ends this day in Lat [LATITUDE] 24 N [NORTH] 179 58

Satur [SATURDAY]
Augus [AUGUST] 29th
First part stearing to south. At 4 P.M
spoke ship Elisabeth of New Bedford.
She took 76 bbls lately. Midle [MIDDLE] part
Midle [MIDDLE] part stearing the same. Latter part
tacked to north. Saw finbacks. Saw
two sails. So ends Lat [LATITUDE] 3 North 179 59 E [EAST]

Sund [SUNDAY]
Augus [AUGUST] 30th
First part light winds. Spoke ship
Orthello [OTHELLO] of New Bedford 49 months 1500[1800?].
Captain Beckerman and family spent the afternoon onboard the
Cary. Midle [MIDDLE] part stearing to north.
Latter tacke [TACKED] to south. 26 north. 170 40 E [EAST]

Mond [MONDAY]
Augu [AUGUST] 31st
First part calm. Spoke Orthello [OTHELLO[
Capt [CAPTAIN] Winslow and family spent
the day onboard of her. Midle [MIDDLE] part
light airs. Ship stearing south. Latter
part squally and rany [RAINY] Lat [LATITUDE] Niorth.

Tuesd [TUESDAY]

Sep [SEPTEMBER] 1st
First part light winds and calms
with rain. Saw blackfish. Lored [LOWERED]
one boat but did not strike. Midle [MIDDLE]
part took in light sails. Ship stearing
to south. Latter part the same. Strong
wind squals [SQUALLS]. Caught a mess of
fish. So ends in Lat [LATITUDE] 26 South 179 37 E [EAST]
