a ship laying off and on at the island.
Midle [MIDDLE] part stearing to north. Latter part
spoke ship Orthello [OTHELLO] of New Bedford, Capt. [CAPTAIN]
Beckerman and his family spent

Saw three ships a whaling. Ship
Othello took three whales. Ships
Desdamony [DESDAMONA] and Elisabeth took
one between them. We lored [LOWERED] our boats
