Stony Point - Nov. 19th 1858

My very dear Brother,

Your letter of 15_ ____ mailed in Roxboro yesterday, was received this evening. We were all very much pleased to hear from you & to learn you were well. Health is an inestimable blessing & yet but few of us set sufficient value upon it. You, perhaps, received a letter from me by last Thursday's mail, giving you some reason to look out for a visit from Ma this week. Various things were in Ma's way so that she did not get off this week, though she has not yet entirely abandoned the idea of going; she is so anxious to see you
