Cloudy with occasional light snow squalls - Morning train to Gold Hill - Was there during PM - Walked to Va at dark - Evening about town - Bed at 1 - Bessie weighs 116 lbs and Millie 107 lbs, so they told me this morning -

Very strong wind blew furiously most of day, from the SW with occasional snow squalls - thawy & very sloppy - PM at Gold Hill - Evening at Opera House - "Lew Johnson's Refined minstrels" - all colored men - 14 in all - arrived this day - They paraded street on arrival with their fine band - evening had about [1/2?] a house - Pretty good entertainment, of the minstrel variety order - But real negro minstrels are not as good as white imitators - Don't come up to the Old SF Minstrels by a long chalk - Bed 1 - Snow 3 inches - I was at the Crown Point office awhile this
