Mrs. Jane L. Stanford:-

In this time of your greatest grief and
sorrow the alumni of the Leland Stanford Junior University desire to
extend to you their own deep regret and their heart-felt sympathy
on account of the very sad and untimely death of Mrs. Stanford.

The resolutions a copy of which is enclosed with this letter
have been passed as a tribute to the memory of the noble woman who
has done so much for each and all of us.
