3: Gale to fresh breeze S. to S.W. with rain tehse 24 hours. Sea moderately smooth. General duties for day. Steamer Farallon sailed at 5 A.M. for San Francisco. Barometer 29.50

4: Gale to fresh breeze S.E. to S. & S.W. thee 24 hours with rain, hail, thunder, and lightening. Sea quite rough. General duties for the day.Barometer 29.45 to 29.70. 1st asst went to Newport after mail and supplies. Left the Station at 2.30 P.M. Keeper working in shop painting flower pots. U.S. Light House tender Manzanita arrived off the Yaquina bar at 3.30 P.M. from the South and crossed into Newport at 5.40 P.M.

5: [in a different hand] Inspected station by order of Cmdr O.W. Farenholt U.S.N. Inspector 13th??? L.H. District by Theo Barker - Inspector's Clerk.

5: Light W.N.W. wind to moderate and fresh breeze thee 24 hours with frequent rain showers. Sea rough. General duties for the day. 2nd asst to Newport. Barometer 29.90. Mr. Theo Barker, Commander O.W. Farenholt, Light-House Inspector's Clerk arrived at the station at 10.30 A.M., made Inspection and left for Newport 11.30 A.M.
