ALFRED PO KANG and HELEN TSAI || Alfred was born January 10, 1912 and was from 146 Ebisu Cho, Darien, Manchuria. His father was Admiral Tingkan Tsai, Chinese Education Mission student in 1873. Before attending Andover, he studied at Stearns School in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. Class of 1933, he attended Phillips Academy September 18, 1928 to June 13, 1930 but left with his course incomplete. His courses included Algebra 1, English 1 and 2, French 1 both years, and Science 2 Lower year. He lived at 59 Salem Street with Mrs. Erving during his Junior and Lower years. He worked for the National City Bank of New York in Peking, where he lived at 1 Tuan Koo, Nan Chih Tze (as of 1937). || Phillips Academy Principal Al Stearns was legal guardian of HELEN TSAI, who attended Whittier School (Merrimac, Massachusetts), 1927-1928, and St. Mary's School (Peekskill, New York), 1928-1929.
