I will now relate and I think
you will not wonder at my
mingled feelings. A week ago
last Friday night a very fine,
good young man by the name
of Fred Goodwin, a cousin of Mrs.
Charles Boardman's, called to see
Miss Page. He belongs to a boat
club with John B- & Joe McKee.
Last Saturday night the club
were returning from a dinner
served in one of the villages on
the Schuykill. It was late and
the two boats were going very fast
when a canal boat without
a light and a tug with a light
met them, they steered away
from the tug but not seeing
the canal boat it ran against
the first of the club boats and
smasched it to pieces throwing
the six occupants into the water.
Among them was Joe McKee.
