Ald Allen here entered.

From J.D. Walker and 3 others by Ald Elliott asking for the removal
of Board Walk North side of Earl Street between Alfred and Frontenac Streets.
Referred to the Board of Works and the City Engineer.

From John A. Macdonald and 22 others, by Ald Elliot protesting
against proposed change of location of the Electric Street Railway track from the
Centre of Princess Street to within ten feet of side walk on North Side - Referred
to the Board of Works.

Alderman Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up Reports (numbers 1189 & 1190 Book G.) which were read.

Ald Gaskin moves seconded by Ald McKelvey.

That the reports 1 & 2 Finance and Accounts be received and adopted.

In Amendment

Ald Elliott moves seconded by Ald Carson.

That the report of the Finance Committee be amended by the amount
of Mrs Graves claim $1.50 as presented to Council - which being put was
lost.

Yeas: Aldn. Carson, Elliott, Martins, Meek, Mundell, Richardson,
Walkem - 7.

Nays: The Mayor, Aldn Curtis, Gaskin, Hardy, Horn, McKelvey,
Wright - 7.

and the original motion was carried.

The Chairman from the Board of Works brought up a Report (Number 1191
Book G) which was read - as also Report of City Engineer and Statement Re: Common
sewer University Avenue.

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Meek.

That the report of the Committee on the Board of Works be received and adopted.

In Amendment

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Elliott.

That the clause of the Board of Works report relative to Granolithic
Walk be struck out and the following be inserted - The Board of Works to
advertise for tenders from persons willing to tender for such work which being put
was lost.

Yeas: The Mayor, Aldn Elliott, Gaskin, Mundell, McKelvey,
Richardson, Wright - 7.

Nays: Aldn Allen, Carson, Curtis, Hardy, Horn, Martin, Meek,
Walkem - 8.

In Amendement

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Gaskin.

That the following be added to the Board of Works report,
nothing in this report shall prevent any other contractor or other company or person
from getting up petitions or tendering for Granolithic walks and it they give
a satisfactory guarantee they recommend the work and the report be so
amended - which being put was carried and the report was adopted as amended.

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works brought up
a Report (Number 1192 Book G) which was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Allen.

Ordered That Ald Behan Chairman of the Council Committee
of Fire, Water and Light be and he is hereby appointed agent of this Corporation
to take a conveyance from John Lemmon by way of bills of sale to this
Corporation of the following goods and chattels the property of the said John Lemmon
