Kingston, December 30th 1895

A meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kingston was held this
day. Present
His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Behan, Curtis, Galloway, Martin, McKelvey, Newlands,
Richardson, Skinner, Stewart, Strainge, Tait, Walkem

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting.

Communications summarized by the Clerk were read and referred as follows: -

From F.C. Ireland City Treasurer stating fees received to date for Market No 1
Referred to the Committee on Finance and accounts.

Ald: Skinner from the Committee on Finance and accounts brought up
Reports (Numbers 1351 and 1352 Book G.) which were read and adopted.

Ald: Richardson from the Board of Works brought up Report (Number 1353
Book G.) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Water Works brought up Report
(Number 1354 Book G.) which was read and adopted.

Ald: McKelvey submitted form of agreement between The Canadian Locomotive
and Engine Company (Limited) and the City of Kingston for the construction of a horizontal
tubular boiler.

On motion of Ald: McKelvey seconded by Ald: Galloway

Ordered, That His Worship the Mayor sign the contract entered into
with the Canadian Engine Company for a Steam Boiler for the Water Works
Department.

Ald: Richardson presented the communicaiton of Thomas O'Bolger
calling the attention of the Council to the condition of the drain on Barrack Street
from Wellington Street.

On motion of Ald: Richardson, seconded by Ald: Stewart

Ordered, That the communicaiton of Thomas O'Bolger referring to the drain on
Barrack Street be referred to the Board of Works with power to Act and that the Finance Committee
be requested to provide funds for same.

On motion, the Council adjourned.
