It was agreed to allow a student to pass in one
department of Junior philosophy and of natural science
without requiring him to pass at the same time in the
departments of these subjects respectively.

The Senate approved of the following subjects of
Theses proposed for M.A. viz

1. The antiquity of man by James Ross B.A.
2. Savanarola and his times by John C. Cattanach B.A.
3. Kanti reply to Empiricison by Arch. B. McCallum B.A.
and the Theses were assigned to the following Examiner
No. 1 to Principal Grant and Mr. Campbell
No 2 to Prof. Ferguson and Mr. Nicholson.
No 3 to the Principal and Prof. Watson.

[margin]LL.D.[/margin]

It was agreed that at the statutory meeting on
the 25th the degree of LL. D. shall be conferred
on Sir Wm. Young Chief Justice of Nova Scotia and
Alpheus Todd Eag Chief Librarian of the Parliament
of Canada.

It was decided that the examination questions
shall be printed, lithographed or written as
the respective examiners may prefer, and
that the printer employed be W. Bailie.
