1902-03

a brass memorial tablet in memory of the late Principal
in Convocation Hall.
The expanding work of the Registrar's department in connection
with the University and the School of Mining and
Agriculture, required addition staff help, and the matter
was committed to the finance and Estates Committee,
to issue it. Better accomodation was also provided for
the Department of Biology. Assistanct Classical Professor
Nicholson was advanced to the Chair of Comparative
Philology and Sanserit.
In the temporary absence of Vice-Principal Watson,
from ill-health, Prof. Dupuis was appointed to act until
a Principal be appointed, the Finance and Estates
Committee to render Prof. Dupuis all the assistance
in their power.
The Rev. Dr. John Thompson of Sarnia was secured to give
a course of lecture in the Theological Faculty on
Homiletics after the New Year, without other consideration
than the supply of his pulpit. Such lecture, from a man
of Dr. Thompson's wide general and Theological knowledge,
and pulpit and pastoral experience, were found to be
very valuable.
These minor, if not uniportant details disposed of,
the next business on the agenda was the appointment of
Principal, Dr. Barclay having declined the office.
