holidays, or as soon thereafter as possible, he may be
able to come to Kingston and assume the duties of
Principal. "
And to the Reverend the Presbytery of Halifax: "May it
please your Reverend Court: The Trustees of Queen's
College and University, at Kingston, Ontario, having
appointed the Rev.D.M.Gordon,D.D., one of the Professors
in the Presbyterian College, Halifax, as Principal of
said University, and having assurance that he is
minded to accept the position to which we have called
him, do now crave that the Presbytery of Halifax
shall open the way to his translation from the care
of your Presbytery to the care of the Presbytery of
Kingston, at as early a date as possible."
At the same time, the Board of Queen's having heard
with very great pleasure that Principal Pollock of
the Presbyterian College, Halifax, would attain on the
18th instant, the jubilee of his ordination to the Christian
Ministry, would offer hearty congratulations and
express the earnest hope that the learned Principal
would long be spared to render has valuable
services to his College and his Church. Dr.Gordon,
Principal of Queen's was requested by the Trustees to
represent the University at the Jubilee meeting, and
