this building to the university, it being the twenty-fifth
anniversary of the installation of our late Principal,
the man who, for a quarter of a century, guided our
destiny, and whose strenuos life was devoted to the
advancement of the University and to the promotion
of the cause of education in Canada."
All necessary arrangements for the installation
of the new Principal would be made in concert by
the University council and the local Trustees, and
the Finance and Estates Commitee would make
provisions for any expenses incurred by Dr.Gordon
in his removal to Kingston, and for any needed
repairs to the Principal's residence.
The plans of the late Principal, dealing with very
important matters, were then taken up by the whole
Board, including the special Commitee, to which they
had been submitted at a previous meeting.
Numbers one and two of the memo submitted were handed
over to the School of Mining. The attention of the
Governors of the School was drawn to the necessity
of approaching the Ontario Government (whose
institution the School really was) at an early date.

also as to the necessity of the Government providing
sufficient means for the equipment of the Mining
