17 Monday

Stenhouse Bay Got gun off Warren. Towards Western River. Fresh gale SSE all sails reefed. 10 am about Stokes Bay blowed hard noon tacked towards Western River. 3 pm stop Western River & landed. Raining hard. From the south. Bar 30-15. Too much rain to land any cargo. Went up to the house & got some apples. Mrs Styles & sissy from Franklin Harbour.

18 Tuesday

Western River. 7 am landed all gui & took on board 6 bales wool 1 bag locks 6 sheep skins on account Western River. Bar 30.20. Fresh south sea smooth. 2 anchors 1 wheeler 1 winch 2 pieces 1 topleft several pieces from 1 pump 1 dingy some chain stops & pieces old rope & sundries. Rec one ton grey paint 1 double black. 9.30 pm left Western River towards Port Adelaide. Light SSW breeze.

19 Wednesday

4 am passed Cape Cassini. Moderate breeze south. Bar rising 30.25. Set all sail. 9 am passed Cape Marsden. Wind SW. Troubridge Island 3.30 pm. Light SE. Latter calm.

20 Thursday

7 am near Glenelg. Light NE. Made several tacks. Tacking up to Henley Beach. Sailed to Schnapper Point. Capt Richie Launch advance towards to Port Adelaide Mount Lyle wharf & got all ready to discharge.

21 Friday

Landed & carted engine to houser. Landed all wool 7 bales 1 bag locks 1 bale sheep skins. Discharged 35 tons guano started 10.30 am got horse from Mount Lyle Comp. Fine light south & variables. Bar 30-30. Worked up to 5 pm. 5 1/2 hours 2 1/2 tons.

22 Saturday

7.30 am started discharging guano all discharged at 10 am 53 ton 1 quarter. Shifted ketch down to tug comp slip at 1 pm & finish up with crew at 4 pm. Paid crew up to date. All guano discharged 53 ton ¼. Fine weather.

JS to town. Paid land tax 3-18/. At the [illegible text] office in Adelaide.

25 Tuesday

JS to town & Glenelg. Glen to Walloughby skins & got 15 per dozen. £1-10.

JS in port all day & at [illegible text]. Paid up stores & Fricker.

1 March Saturday

J Martin motor car awaiting. JS away in the Warrawee to Edithburgh. Left 9.30 am with [illegible text] Slade for Marion Bay. Stop Warooka the night at Ramsay Hotel.

2 Sunday

7 am Left in motor car at Warooka for Marion Bay. Stop Stenhouse Bay 11 am & took Smith as prisoner. Got some things few sundries & return to Warooka for the night.

3 Monday

At Warooka. Smith was tried. Fine 5 pounds. Had to give up all things. JS return to Edithburgh at 3 pm.

4 Tuesday

At Edithburgh.

5 Wednesday

At Edithburgh. JS & Mr Slade left at 5 pm in Kopoola for Port Adelaide. Stop 12.30 pm.
