December 5. Wild Day. Twelve nots the hour.

6. Plenty of birds about. Cold day.

7. The women beat Constable Johnson between decks.

8. A great disturbance caused by Mr. Riley.

9. Good breeze. Sea washing over the sides of vessel.

10. The Condensing Engine breaks down.

11. Foggy day. Five nots the hour.

12. Showers. Nine or ten nots.

13. Stormy. Cold wind.

14. Fight between Jonson and [Luk?]

15. ____________ Street and Burke.

16. Fine day.

17. A service in the evening. Seven nots the hour.

18. The Condenser at work again. Cragan's boy died at 1.30 buried at 8 p.m.

19. Beautiful day.

20. Cloudy and cold. The Catholics fast day.

21. A fight between two single young men.

22. Splendid breeze. [Wishing?] people to see land.

23. A Concert between decks in the evening.

24. Miserable day. Water coming over sides of vessel.

25. An extra quantity of flour raisins, and suet given to the Emigrants. The Captain gave the sailors flour etc., but they returned it to him. At dinner-time they filled a tub with pea-soup and hauled it along the deck to the poop - singing and cheering - meaning insult to the Captain.

26. Two or three molly hawks and an albatross caught by the single girls. Jack Anderson, who was washing side of vessel, slipped into the water, and was half-a-mile out to sea before he was rescued by means of a boat.

27. Old Mother +mas thrown overboard.

28. Good breeze - nine or ten nots.

29. Wet morning. A collection made for emigrant's cook

30. A collection made for the Doctor's assistant. a social entertainment in the evening.

December 1. A large number of whales were seen throwing water into the air. Mr Harvey's baby died.

2. Baby buried at 7 this morning. A young man named Ray fell from the Shanker Gaff - to the poop - breaking his arm and knocking in two front teeth.
