Georgetown, S. C. Sept 29 1860

Rt. Rev'd Bishop Otey

My dear Sir,

It
would afford me much pleasure to
be present at University Place on
the 10th {illegible: ult?} to participate in
the interesting ceremony of laying
the Corner Stone of the principal
building of the University of the
South, but my business engagements
will prevent my doing so.

May God prosper your no-
ble efforts in this truly great un-
dertaking!

With much respect

Your Obt. Srt,

R. E. Fraser
